Seriously: “half of all [US] Americans live 18 miles or less from their mothers”.
Which means that my old preconception of all those rootless Americans, constantly shifting their belongings from one coast to the other for any imaginable job opportunity is wrong. The US appears to be a country of tight knit families. The boomers are getting old, and need some help. But note that class divides do apply.
