Sharpening the Mind and Body
While I have been now training in Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and yoga at Peaceful Dragon for more than 18 months, I still find that my cardio fitness is seriously lacking, and that’s partially because I hit breaks in my training due to illness, work running late, family stuff…and then it’s hard to catch up again. I’ve never liked running, the gym, or done well with home fitness regimens due to a lack of personal discipline, but I may have found the trick to doing it!
My wife purchased a treadmill for our home, and I figured, “why not try it myself?” The hard part has always been keeping me from absolute boredom during such activity, so this past week I decided to try going through the “Great Courses” using the Audible app on my iPhone. I purchased my first such course and did my first 30 minutes on the treadmill this morning, followed by 10 pushups, and I actually enjoyed it!
