Perhaps one of the most poignant and fitting ends to Clinton’s campaign. Not the most beautifully sung version by far, but powerful and moving.

Kate McKinnon, dressed as her Clinton character in a cream pantsuit, played the piano and sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Very moving tribute to two passing lights, but especially to our spirit of fortitude and perseverance that has taken us past other hard times.
And remember, there’s another “Hallelujah” song. It goes back to 1862, another time when the confederates were bent (amid victory over the nation they betrayed) on dragging America back into feudalism. It is a song that drew sneers and contempt from them… till the tide turned and they realized.
We will not give up. And neither should you.
