My New Daily Affirmation
As I wrote about the other new in my blog, https://www.chipspersonallog.com/self-discipline-accountability/, I have to make some changes. And while there are a lot of smaller moving parts that are all integral to reaching new goals, I’ve realized there is one driving focus that I must keep in mind: re-programming myself to know that I actually AM good at being self-disciplined, and that DESPITE my ADD, I can learn to thrive in a highly structured schedule. Without this most important underlying change, none of the other changes will happen.
So tonight, after managing 10 minutes on the heavy bag before this bad cough stopped me, I took one other small step and created this new affirmation, a la Think and Grow Rich and Psycho-Cybernetics, which I will post on my bathroom window. I’ll look myself in the mirror every morning and night and repeat it out loud. I’ll also use it as part of my daily meditation.
Without long-term self-discipline, I’ll fall off the bandwagon again. But with it….oh boy, I can’t WAIT to see how much more I can do and be!
