Karl Popper, one of the 20th century’s most renowned philosophers of science, was born on this day in 1902. Popper was a staunch advocate for empirical falsification in science: He argued that a scientific theory could never be proven true but it could be proven false via decisive experiments. His impact on discussions of what defines science can still be felt today. (http://buff.ly/2v2ZicB)
