This will be the first in what I hope will be a long series about the people who’ve inspired me, mentored me, or in some powerful way, touched my life. It is my hope that you may also find some inspiration in these stories.
I’m not talking about physical beauty in this post, although the person about whom I am going to tell you is certainly a very lovely lady. No, this article is about a Spirit of beauty, because this woman, whom I’ve actually never met in person, is someone of such tremendous inner beauty, it’s impossible to adequately put her into words. Especially because my gifts are different from hers, but that’s the very reason she inspires me.
Meet Roni – an Angel on Earth
I don’t remember how I first met Roni Delmonico on Google+, but I probably added her through some Circle shared by someone in the early days. I wish there were some way to find the first post on which we interacted, but I seem to recall that she’d hit a rough patch and was sharing the story, and I tried to offer some comfort. I didn’t know how it would be received, but she accepted it gratefully, and thus our online friendship began.
Over time, because of some work that Roni and her husband, Jim, were doing, I began to see what an amazingly beautiful spirit Roni has. She is simply an amazing person, with a heart and soul of giving and sharing that can overwhelm you with it’s gentle power. There’s really no way for me to adequately describe this gift of hers, because I don’t have it myself.
As it happens, Roni is also a truly gifted photographer, who has become well-known on Google+, Flickr, and other places for her Reverse Macro technique, which involves a simple adapter, a macro lens, and a DSLR to create super-soft, dreamy macros with a razor-sharp and clear focus point, often a single water droplet.
Sensitive Souls are So Vulnerable
Our friendship (and her online relationships with a lot of people) took a major hit early in 2013, when her online accounts were hacked. Roni and her husband have spent a lot of time recovering from that trauma, but all her friends are glad to see her online again, because she has such a knack for expressing profoundly beautiful ideas and touching our hearts, that we’ve all missed very much. It is one of the challenges of a soul of such sensitivity, because they are so easily and deeply wounded, and they need more time to emerge from hurt. But she’s doing it now in a way that simply demonstrates how amazing she is. And now she’s ready to be back out in the world, sharing her Light, so I’d like to share her with you.
Out Collecting Light
Personally, I don’t think Roni needs to go out and collect light, because she IS that Light. However that may be, Roni has launched a new venture that I’d like to share, with the hope that her inspiration and light will reach more people.
Honestly, I am not going to try and tell you any more about Roni, because quite frankly, I can’t do her justice. Therefore, I’m just going to tell you – GO VISIT HER SITE. All you need to do is open your heart and you will be better for it…..I promise. 🙂
That said, I will tell you a little about what she’s doing on her new venture (but again – GO VISIT HER SITE and get it from her directly, plus you’ll get to see lots of her amazing photography.) BTW – in order to read her blog, click the link Inspired! It took me a bit to figure that out.
- Travel Retreats
- Local Events (she and her husband Jim live in central New York, USA)
- And if you’re lucky enough to live close enough for some regular inspiration, Workshops
As I end this post, I wish I could think of something profound or beautiful to say, maybe some inspiring song lyrics, or a poem, or SOMETHING that would give you some idea of what a special lady Roni is. That’s not my gift, though. So my gift to you is simply this post, telling you that you can only be blessed by learning more about her.
And if you love going out to collect light, too…..then in Roni you will truly meet a kindred spirit.
