Time to share a little photography, as I haven’t done that here for a bit. Fortunately, I’ve had some time to shoot recently, and I’d like to share. Don’t forget – you can find all of these images on my photography website, where prints can be purchased, too.
Dancing with Light, Music, & Elizabeth
Google+ really is an amazing place for photographers, and if you haven’t been there yet, PLEASE ignore all those clueless people who claim that G+ is a “ghost town.” If that’s what you think, then you really haven’t learned how to use it yet. I promise! And one of the photographers I’ve met there is named Levi Moore, who seems to be an all-around great guy, in addition to being a remarkable photographer. Well, last week (last week of January 2014), Levi posted some photos that he’d taken of his daughter, as she danced in the dark with glow sticks taped to her arms, legs, mid-section, etc. And I thought the photos were AWESOME! And since we were stuck at home at the time, due to the “Charlotte Snowpocalypse 2014” (see photos below), Elizabeth and I decided to try it ourselves. So we got a pack of 10 glow sticks for $3.80 at Walmart, waited until it was dark, and had us some fun in the bonus room!
Charlotte Snowpocalypse 2014
Earlier that same day, since Charlotte basically shuts down when snow is even a possibility (as someone who grew up with a lot more snow, I still find this laughable, even though I completely understand why it is. It’s just highly irritating when we have to close the office because of a teensy dusting), and we were kind of stuck at home for most of the day, I took my camera and walked our beautiful neighborhood, shooting some images. Since I have become more of a wimp in extreme cold, having lived in North Carolina for nearly 24 years now, I didn’t stay out long, but fortunately there were some beautiful scenes right close by.
Well, that’s all for now. I’m just glad that I’m getting to shoot and explore both the actual photography and the post-processing. If you really want to know, I use Photoshop Lightroom (LR) and Photoshop Creative Cloud (CC) pretty much exclusively, with an occasional bit of Silver Efex Pro 2 (Nik Software/Google). Hope you enjoy these as much as I do. 🙂
